I agree, Eve. It's not an easy thing to do, though. If I didn't have my brother and my dad, I'd be sorely lacking in this area.

The only thing i would add to the how to be a good mom/parent list is ...

... if you're raising a child of the opposite gender and the child's other parent isn't in the picture, please get some trusted people of that gender to mentor him/her. otherwise, they'll never really learn what it means to be a woman/man because their sole parent simply can't teach them to be what they aren't.

that year in her lunch she HAD her chips or cookies or snack cakes. my thoughts were if you allowed the kids to run and play at recess instead of telling them to walk all the time they would burn off some of that energy.boy school sure has changes since i was in elementary. LOL

Sniggidy? OH..I HAVE TO USE THAT ONE! LOL!

Wait..they told you what they can bring in their lunches? OH NO. They would have had a SERIOUS fight on their hands. I'm not going for you telling me what I can and cannot feed my child.

my daughter had a teacher tell me a couple years ago that the kids are not allowed to brings chips, and certain types of juice or cookies and snack cakes to school in their lunches because it cause them to be too hipper. now ain't that some sniggidy?
